The SAFAL Group is a well established and leading Group in the steel manufacturing sector with presence in over 10 sub-Saharan counties involved predominantly in manufacturing and marketing business.
MRM has exciting leadership positions for the suitably qualified, competent and passionate candidates to fill the positions in order for the Company and the Group to fulfill the ambitious growth plans.
The positions and requirements to fill any one of them are profiled below:
1. General Manager – Marketing – (35-45) Age Bracket
a) Academic: B Sc. Engineering (Civil/Structural/Mechanical) and an MBA-Marketing from a reputed institution(s).
b) Work Experience: The successful candidate would have worked in metal roofing/ structural segment as leader heading operations for 7 years or as senior manager for 10 years. He/she should have good knowledge in metal processing industry. Should have excellent work experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies including direct marketing to institutional customers, experience in various distribution channels and export marketing.
c) Competencies: High level of Business Acumen for strategic decisions, excellent communication, leadership and soft skills management.
2. Value Stream Manager – (30-40) Age Bracket
This is a new position in the organization. The person selected to hold this position will be responsible for the following functions: Develop lean manufacturing and implementation progress reports; drive change process; create current-state and future-state value-stream maps and the implementation plan for getting from present to future; monitor all aspects of implementation; check the flow of the value stream daily and prepare weekly reports; implement all value-stream programs; maintains and periodically updates the implementation plan and be results driven.
a) Academic: University level of education with an engineering degree qualified in any one of the following concentrations: mechanical, civil, process, production or equivalent qualifications.
b) Work Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of working experience gained in the process industry with some background of the Kaizen systems
c) Competencies: Strong leadership, innovation and creativity coupled with communication skills will be desirable for successful performance of job requirements.
3. Value Stream Assistant Manager – (28-35) Age Bracket
a) Academic: Diploma level qualifications with engineering qualifications in any one of the following concentrations: mechanical, civil, process, production or equivalent qualifications.
b) Work Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of working experience gained in the process industry. Knowledge of the Kaizen systems will be added advantage to the right candidate
c) Competencies: Innovation and creativity, communication skills and team working skills would be essential to succeed in performing the job requirements of this position.
In both the cases, the Value stream team members will be stationed in one place but will be required to work in various locations.
4. Sales Engineer – (25-35) Age Bracket
The sales engineer will provide service existing Industrial Customers, The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new customers for roofing and allied products. He/she will be responsible for liaising with all the specifiers, contractors and direct customers. Other duties will include working on stone coated products, updating project tracking, fallowing up on timely payment collection; development of light-weight steel structures, gathering and analyzing market data and information.
a) Academic: University level of education with an engineering degree qualified in any one of the following concentrations: architecture, civil, or equivalent qualifications.
b) Work Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of working experience gained in commercial environment.
c) Competencies: Strong leadership, communication skills and team working abilities will be desirable for successful performance of job requirements.
5. Senior Commercial Executive (28-35) Age Bracket
a) Academic: University level of education with a degree in Commerce, Economics, or equivalent qualifications from well established institutions. Preference will be given to candidates with post graduate diploma in Logistics/Supplies Management are encouraged to apply.
b) Work Experience: At least 5 years experience in Export documentation, logistics & port operations. Applicants should have a clean, valid driving License with at least 5 years driving experience. Candidates who have worked in shipping industry or clearing & Forwarding organizations will have a distinct advantage
c) Competencies: Strong leadership, innovation and creativity coupled with communication skills will be desirable for successful performance of job requirements. Qualified candidates are expected to work under pressure.
